I have successfully installed windows 10 upgrade onto mine without any of the black screen or driver problems many people have experienced so for what its worth here is the way I did it
First I installed the bios A09, then the A16
Next I did a clean install of windows 7, activated it and did all of the windows updates
Next I went to the Intel site and let the automatic driver installer put what it thought should be on the machine, and then ignored any windows update nags to replace them with windows drivers.
I then took a ghost image just in case it didnt work so I had an up to date clean Win 7 image to keep for posterity
Then I just started the windows based upgrade process and let it run through
Dell E6510 Windows 10 Mass Storage Controller Drivers
Afterwards I had a complete authenticated windows 10 64 pro upgrade running on both the internal and external screen without any issue and only two bits of hardware that werent identified, which were the same two that hadnt been automatically picked up by windows 7
Ethernet, SD card, sound, wifi, and display are all working fine which is all I really cared about
I hope this helps people having problems
Dell Mass Storage Controller Windows 10
Hi, I have sony vaio model # vgncr320e , 2gb ram, 250gb hard drive,windows vista sp1.
I recently installed windows 7 beta 1 by partioning my hard drive. I have alloted 25gb of hard drive space to new windows 7 beta 1 OS.
Problem 1;
In the 'device manager' I see 'Mass Storage Controller' which shows me a yellow sign of exclaimation & the following message pops up when 'right clicked' on 'properties' ;
'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 2
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver'
Problem 2;
In the 'device manager' below the 'Mass Storage Controller' name/driver it shows a name/driver called 'Unknown Device' again with yellow sign of exclaimation as mentioned above & When 'right clicked' on its properties I get the same error message as mentioned above.
Self Troubleshooting done so far by me;
1>Update the driver[It couldnt find any device drivers online for both the 2 problems]
2>Uninstall & Reinstall the drivers [Didnt help]
3>Windows updated with optional updates turned on and installed [Didnt help]
4>Reinstall the whole windows 7 beta 1 [Didnt help either]
Conclusion;1>What should i do Now to get these 2 devices working properly without any error messages
2>Where can i find drivers for windows 7 beta to download.
3>Note; When i plug in my usb external hard drive it shows me a message 'Do u want to scan the drive or continue without scanning' & i tried both the ways/methods but still my files stored in usb external hard drive drive freeze & therefore dont respond immediately when i try to view or open them.
Kindly suggest the way to comeover the problem, thanks
