Post-Rock EZX from Toontrack is an expansion pack for EZdrummer 2.1 and Superior Drummer 2.4.2+, and features drums tailored for post-rock, captured in Iceland's Sundlaugin Studios. Surrounded by a landscape chiseled from millions of years of volcanic lava, with a waterfall a stone's throw away and with a glacier stream literally running beneath it, the studio is the perfect place to record the included sounds.
Located in Reykjavik, the present facility originally served as a bathhouse in the 1930s, but later underwent a major acoustic conversion for Icelandic artist Sigur Rós. The current studio complex retains the original swimming pool (empty), a space that produces a bright but still warm and reverberant tone. Additionally, the best microphones, outboard and gear have captured artists such as Sólstafir, Jon Hopkins and Spiritualized, as well as several of Sigur Rós' own records.
With a collection of rich, deep, and complexly textured drums tailored for post-rock, the four complete kits were recorded using traditional drum sticks, along with a single kit struck with felt mallet and brushed options.
